A water tower in Hanson, Massachusetts, which was the center of controversy between the town and a resident last month, was seen with a new image projected on it on Wednesday.

The image, which appeared to be a Punisher skull with Donald Trump's hairstyle, appeared on the water tower Wednesday evening, one day after Trump declared victory in the 2024 presidential election.

In October, the water tower gained attention after a resident projected a "Trump 2024" campaign sign on it, resulting in the town taking action by blurring the image with flood lights and declaring that political signs will not be tolerated on town property.

Responding to the town's decision to drown out the projection with flood lights, hundreds of Trump supporters gathered in Hanson to protest the decision to remove the projection on the water tower.

In addition to the protests, Hanson town officials also received threats in response to the action they took against the projection.

Following the new projection on the water tower on Wednesday, Hanson Town Administrator Lisa Green issued a statement.

“Earlier today, the Town of Hanson discontinued measures put in place to block a political image being projected onto a Town-owned water tower. Regrettably, the party involved in the image projection resumed projecting today, and as a result, we have had to yet again take measures to block the projected image,” the statement said.

“We would like to reiterate that the Town of Hanson does not endorse any political candidate, party or platform in any election, and that Town bylaws prohibit the display of political symbols or signage on government property. The Town is duty-bound to enforce those bylaws and is committed to taking whatever action is necessary to prevent future violations.”

As of Wednesday night, the town resumed shining flood lights on the water tower to drown out the projection.
