Kanye West convinced fans he had all his teeth removed for a wild reason.

The rapper, 46, is known for his intense passion for fashion, with he and wife Bianca Censori regularly making headlines for covering up from head to toe (Kanye) and wearing practically nothing at all (Bianca).

Now the father-of-four has taken a wild new step – by replacing his teeth with titanium prosthodontics which apparently cost close to a million dollars.

Kanye – who goes by Ye – shared a photograph of his new teeth on Instagram, showing the shining, silver-coloured titanium with two points almost like vampire teeth.

He compared himself to James Bond villain Jaws, who appeared in two 007 films and is best recognised by his metal teeth.

Kanye’s grills are estimated to have cost $850,000 (£700,000) and were done by Dr Thomas Connelly in Beverly Hills; a source has now given more details of the procedure to Metro.co.uk, and dismissed rumours the star had his teeth removed for the procedure.

The source said the ‘fixed prosthodontics are, as the name suggests, fixed and permanent.’

‘This goes way beyond veneers or grills. And his particular implant is quite unlike anything that has been done before,’ they continued.

The titanium fittings also include ‘other precious metals’ including platinum, with the procedure described as ‘experimental dentistry to say the least.’

They confirmed, however, that ‘his teeth weren’t removed.’

Reports had suggested Ye had all of his teeth surgically removed to make way for dentures, which had fans, naturally, freaking out.

However another dentist who worked on the look, Naoki Hayashi Master Ceramist, had quickly dismissed the rumours.

The cosmetics dentist shared art of the metal structure, garnering thousands of likes and comments – and one user, _markthebunny_, asked what we were all thinking: ‘Did he really remove all his teeth?’

Naoki replied quickly, and sorted it all out with a simple ‘no’.

Dentist Dr Connelly told the Daily Mail that Kanye’s ‘vision for designing unique art transcends the dental progression. The marriage of his vision with dental science has created a new look that is epic!’

It appears Kanye may actually have been inspired by his daughter for the new look.

Kanye shares North, 10, Saint, eight, Chicago, six, and four-year-old Psalm with ex wife Kim Kardashian, and eldest North is beginning to use social media, heavily monitored by her mother.

This week North put up a ‘photo dump’ of memories on her and Kim’s TikTok page, featuring snaps of her with diamond-like grills on several of her teeth.

North’s grills appear to be temporary and removable, as she’s seen with and without the diamond additions in posts going back months.

Kanyes, however, are not – the surgical dentures can only be implanted once a person’s teeth are removed.

Back in 2010, Kanye had diamond and gold implants in his bottom set of teeth, and insisted to Ellen DeGeneres that they were now permanently his teeth, having ‘replaced’ his bottom row.

‘I guess there’s just certain things that rock stars are supposed to do,’ he said at the time – though there was scepticism at the time as to whether he really had removed his teeth.
